What famous producers say:

Sterling Winfield

(Pantera, Hellyeah, B.B. King, etc;)

"In my 20+ years as an engineer and producer I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like what she has to offer."

John Haywood

(David Garrett,Tokyo 2020 Olympics)

"I knew instantly she was rewriting the rule book on electric guitar faculty and propelling this instrument into an entirely different sound world, totally unique and entirely different from what we generally know of the electric guitar."

I am delighted to welcome a limited number of guitar players, on all levels, to my 2 Guitar Retreats, at my new home in Norway, this summer. I just moved back to Norway, after 26 years abroad; having lived in Italy, France, USA and England.

You will receive complimentary access to my online courses, and my VIP Club, upon signing up for the retreat. As a BONUS you'll also get FREE Private Lessons online before you come. Once you are here at the retreat you will 1st receive an exclusive Welcome Package. During the retreat you'll have both group - and private lessons every day, covering several topics during the group sessions:

  1. How to speed up your playing and progress by using my secret Bunker-Blaster Warm-Up Routine. The secret sauce is in the warm-up! Time and time again I see that implementing my warm-ups can be nothing short of life-changing for guitarists. It's not just the combination of exercises, but how they get practised, and with what tools. ๐Ÿค” After an hour of this you'll be ready to fly across your fretboard with greater ease and agility than ever before. Shredding and playing may even feel 10x easier!
  2. Basic to advanced techniques including: How To Become A Sweep Picking Monster! I've lost count of how many times I've been asked questions about Sweep Picking. The main issue is that there is a lack of good explanations, and it requires serious deep analysis of what the student is actually doing, versus what they ought to be doing to get it right. A change may have to happen on the gear front as well to facilitate this technique. People come to me specifically for help with this due to what I've done as a virtuoso guitarist playing impossible violin virtuoso pieces on my 7 string guitar. Whenever you tackle a classical piece you can either do it "horizontally" or "vertically." What I mean by that is that you can either play very easily "up and down" in a vertical movement on your guitar neck, OR you'll have to play in a horizontal fashion which means plenty of Sweep Picking, Advanced Tapping, and Odd Guitar Solutions! We also tackle: the basics of guitar playing, extreme metal playing, how to get feel/melody into your playing, how to sing and play the guitar at the same time, and rhythm.
  3. Guitar Rehab. Usually overlooked by all string slingers until they either injure themselves or are in desperate need of a chiropractor. Each morning will start with an exercise session where we'll be working on all the muscles groups that gets strained by the act of guitar playing. I originally created a course called "Guitar Rehab" in 2021 where I share all my secrets to healthy guitar playing: how to prevent or recover from a guitar related injury. Guitar Rehab was mentioned in Guitar World (2022), and has gotten great feedback from students. It is based on my own experience with "inhuman" virtuoso pieces, and it is literally my secret recipe for how I can do what I'm doing physically. Sadly this is a grey area for most guitarists, and that is why so many suffer with pain caused either short term, or long term by the act of playing itself, regardless of technique. โš ๏ธ
  4. Confidence Building. Playing in front of others can be a scary experience! That is why I'm dedicating 30 minutes everyday to students performing a song of their choice in front of the other participants, including myself. This is a great way to grow, and I'll also share my experience with overcoming performance anxiety.

Each guitarist will have individual guitar lessons every day.

At the end of the Retreat the guitarists may choose to participate in a jam session/concert, which will be open to the public.

It is also possible to get extra lessons (with an extra fee) on how I've recorded 4 albums using my professional digital home recording studio. These extra lessons will take place in the evening.

In the few short weeks that Iโ€™ve been doing this Master Class, Iโ€™ve noticed a huge improvement on my playing. Iโ€™m more relaxed, my riffs are more fluid, and my picking hand is more precise. Iโ€™ve been playing guitar for over 30 years from blues/rock/metal perspective and these lessons have definitely helped break some bad habits and developing good ones. Whether you are a beginner, or a seasoned player like myself, this Master Class will take your playing to the next level.

Your guitar mentorship program is amazing! First of all itโ€™s definitely a special and rare opportunity due to how you might not be able to always do this someday since youโ€™ll be busy with writing and recording new music, videos, etc. But itโ€™s also rare that a well known virtuoso guitarist and singer such as yourself, who has been in magazines and different media, would actually take the time to do this with their fans. So thank you for giving back, as well as getting the opportunity to get to know you more.

As for the actual content, well getting the all of the courses, from you and access to the vip club is amazing itself, but also each lesson is custom tailored to each personโ€™s needs. Youโ€™ve told me some secrets that I wasnโ€™t aware of with certain techniques. You really get into breaking everything down and making it clear. It shows you really care for your students. Sharing exercises that you yourself have done is also great!

I feel like Iโ€™m improving in guitar more now than I have in a long time. I was stagnating before. And one of the other great thing about this is that I can share videos and ask questions before our lessons. I definitely used this opportunity to ask to learn some of your own songs as well as some classical that you do so well. How often does anyone get to learn to play songs from an artist they love straight from the artist themself?

Daily program for the Guitar Retreat

09:00 - 10:30

Guitar Players are athletes. A good start to the day is important!

We start the day with a healthy breakfast, followed by stretches and exercises taken from my Guitar Rehab course; to prevent injury.

(You will get complimentary access to my course, so that you can watch all the videos before you come here.) ๐Ÿ™‚

If anyone wants to take a swim in the river on the property it is possible (before breakfast).

10:30 - 12:30

Group session - I will share my secret Bunker-Blaster Warm-Up routine with you; which includes numerous exercises. Every day we will add some more exercises and work on how to do them right!

This will give you that "lift" that you need in order for everything else to be "easy" afterwards.

You will get all the exercises so that you can have them with you once you leave. You will also get complimentary access to my Guitar MasterClass before you arrive.

We will also dedicate time to focus on specific techniques each day:

  1. The one chord that will change everything! The basics of Guitar Playing.
  2. Extreme Metal! How to shred and how to get your guitar to squeal!
  3. How to get melody and feel into your playing.
  4. Odd Guitar Solutions! Strange ways to play complex classical melodies.
  5. Tapping! From beginner to advanced.
  6. How to become a Sweep Picking Monster!
  7. How to sing & play at the same time, how to tackle rhythm, and a general re-cap where we re-visit everything that we've done, to make sure that everything is clear! ๐Ÿ™‚

12:30 - 13:00

Group session - Confidence Building!

Playing in front of others can be a scary experience! This is why I've added a specific Confidence Building session where all the students will be offered to perform a piece of music of their choice in front of everyone else. ๐Ÿ™‚

I will also share my reading lists and advice on what I did to overcome my own performance anxiety.

You will get complimentary access to my coach's mini-course on confidence before you arrive.

On the last day of the retreat we'll be doing a jam session or concert that will be open to the public. The participation is voluntary.

13:00 - 14:30

Lunch break, with lunch served in the main dining room, or in the garden.

Please let me know about special dietary needs. We have many diets due to food allergies already in this household, so we know how to handle that.

14:30 - 17:30

Each guitarist has a 30 minutes private guitar lesson with me, without the others present.

This lesson will be customised to your specific needs and desires.

Before you join the retreat I'll ask you to send me a video of yourself playing and all questions that you may have for me. This will make it possible for me to prepare what we should work on.

You will also get 1-3 FREE online Guitar Lessons with me before you come to the retreat, so that we already know each other beforehand.

It's also possible for an extra fee to learn how I use my professional home recording studio. We will work on this separately in the evening.

20:00 - we are tired...

We have dinner in the main dining room, or in the garden, where it is possible to do BBQs.

If guitarists want to have wine, or other alcohol with the food, they have to buy that at the Norwegian "Vinmonopolet" stores. The closest is 20 minutes drive away. It has an ok selection, but those in bigger cities, such as Hรธnefoss (on the way from Oslo) has more to choose from.

Practical information and Fees per Retreat

The price for the Retreat is โ‚ฌ 1097.

This includes accommodation in the lovely side building, and 3 home cooked meals a day.

Food in Norway is very expensive, so having the meals included will save you a lot of money.

The guest rooms in the side building have been re-decorated. They have new, comfortable beds, heating and wifi. You also have access to some simple cooking facilities there, so guitarists can make hot drinks or a quick meal, if they want to. You also get access to the library.

The guitarists will have to use one of the bathrooms in the main building, which is very close, to take showers.

A modern apartment for 2 people, with a private, modern kitchen, and a modern bathroom is also available, for an extra fee, on the 1st floor of the main building.

Alternative accommodation: upgraded 1st floor flat in the main house, with separate kitchen and bathroom. The big bed will be replaced with 2 single beds.

The participants have access to the library in the main building.

The property is located 100 meters off the main road between Oslo and Bergen, E16, and the bus "Valdres Expressen" stops right outside the house. Despite the closeness to the road there is not much traffic, since Norway is a country with very few people. You will see what I mean when you get here :)

If you arrive by plane, you can take a short train trip to Oslo Central Station from the Airport, and take the bus from Oslo Central Bus Station, which is next to the main train station.

If you rent a car, the house is just under 2 hours north of Oslo.

The old Stabbur has been converted into a comfortable guest house, just meters from the main house.

The property has a very big outdoors area, which goes all the way down to one of Norway's best Trout rivers; Begna, in Begnadalen.

We have fishing rights, so if  you are into fishing, you can try your luck, or go swimming in the very clean lake.

The area, Valdres, is known for its stunning natural beauty and wildlife. If you want to explore it you will need a car.

The closest, small supermarket is 3 km away. The closest village, Bagn, is 20 minutes drive away. There is a famous bakery there, in addition to supermarkets, a sports store and also a Wine store.

It will be possible to get private singing lessons with my very own vocal coach: Elisabeth Hilltout.

Her vocal coach had the same teacher as Maria Callas, the legendary soprano.

Elisabeth was trained 6 days a week by Italian Maestra Aida Meneghelli, and has an impressive collection of press clips, and reviews from her own Opera performances.

There are hardly any legitimate Bel Canto coaches alive today; so I highly recommend that you take advantage of this unique opportunity.

I've been using my Bel Canto training to sing: heavy metal, acoustic, religious, musical, and classical music. The sky is the limit when you master this technique.

She is doing a Bel Canto Retreat this summer, but if you want to have private singing lessons with her during my Guitar Retreats, that is possible as well.

Singers or guitarists who do both singing and guitar lessons get a 20% discount on the 2nd instrument, since they do not pay for accommodation and food twice, the same week.

Sign up NOW and get 1 FREE 60 minutes Zoom lesson with me before the retreat!

When the Retreat has been paid in full you get all the rest of the BONUSES.

I ONLY have space for maximum 5 guitarists on each of the two retreats.

If you are not one of my students, then I will ask you to send me a video of yourself playing so I can see which level you are on, and what you need help with. I will also ask you to send me any questions that you may have for me before we first meet online.

Your video can be made with your phone. It's not a big deal. I just need to see how you hold your hands, and how you play your guitar! It's just for me to have a reference, and to know you better! This will save us time. :)

If you sign up for 2 retreats, you get a 20% discount on the second one.
